Sigma Pi Upsilon at 100 Years

Upsilon brothers gathered at UCLA and 612 Landfair to commemorate the chapter’s centennial, celebrate the brotherhood, and support its second century.

Centennial Schedule

  • 4:00 PM — Upsilon Manor happy hour
  • 4:30 PM — Ritual and awards
  • 5:00 PM — Group photograph
  • 6:00 PM — Drinks and appetizers at the Grand Horizon Ballroom
  • 7:00 PM — Three-course dinner and top awards
  • 9:00 PM — DJ and dancing

Venue and Lodging

The main celebration took place in UCLA’s Grand Horizon Ballroom at Covel Commons, overlooking Drake Stadium with views toward Royce Hall, Powell Library, and Janss Steps. A historical lodging arrangement offered attendees a discounted stay at UCLA’s Luskin Conference Center; that offer has expired.

Brotherhood Pre-Event

Earlier that day, brothers met at 612 Landfair for the “Doin’ it for Ducky” 5K fun run, honoring UCLA track and field legend and Upsilon brother Elvin C. “Ducky” Drake. Historical shirt sales and event registration are closed.

Organizing and Merchandise History

The centennial was organized through alumni volunteer service and donor support. Commemorative “Doin’ it for Ducky” shirts were offered before the event; ordering is closed and no transaction links are retained here.
