Some friendships are measured by the distance brothers will travel to be together.
Led by Alfred Hernandez, Upsilon brothers Sean Bloch, Steve Clarence, Lance Fuchs, Brad Reichard, Ed Rhee, Tom Soto, Matt Sumrow, Jason Won, John Yipp joined from across the country in Washington, D.C., as their UCLA Bruins took on the Maryland Terrapins.
Recent graduate and new alumnus Michael Gallagher joined the Upsilon group, and t Alfred’s wife, Estella, and Tom Soto’s son, James were also in attendance. David Riley was missed because of a last-minute change in plans.
Before game day, the brothers visited Capitol Hill, where the staffs of U.S. Representative Burgess Owens and U.S. Senator Ted Cruz welcomed them. Special thanks to Congressman Owens’ staff for arranging a Capitol tour that included the Speaker’s Balcony.
Decades after UCLA, these brothers continue to show up for one another and for Upsilon, supporting today’s chapter advisors while cultivating tomorrow’s alumni leaders.
That’s lifelong brotherhood.
