Chuck Osterlund with the Upsilon house dog Brutus in 1956. He was a great dane who weighted 180 lbs. and would say “hello” by leaping up and knocking down everyone he met. He was also known to walk the ladies across the bucolic campus to class, back when dogs didn’t need to worry about heavy traffic in Westwood. He eventually retired to a brother’s house in Palm Springs.
