The places these collages represent are neither authentic nor impossible. Instead the positive efforts put forth by both artists are apparent in the beautiful unity of images that offer other, often refreshing avenues to consider on this journey; perspectives equally as valid as a singular photograph by itself. With an eye for beauty and depth Jay Donnell travels around the world living a bohemian life full of humility and adventure capturing luminous vistas, holy places, and local culture. Then Randall Bass sits down in his LA studio reconstructing his images into other realities, parallel perspectives for the viewer to exist within temporarily. The final piece is displayed as a limited number canvas print; balancing the muted texture of painting with the clarity and resolution of photography.
